What TV Shows Am I Currently Watching?*

Thursday, 14 February 2019

One of my go to questions when having a conversation with someone is “what TV shows are you currently watching?” It is an excellent conversation starter, especially if you are meeting someone for the first time and need an ice breaker question, everyone will have an answer. We really are incredibly lucky to have access to the streaming platforms we do now, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, DisneyLife and NOW TV, etc. I remember the days where you would have to check what time a show would be on and hope that you were able to watch it at that time. This was before you were even given the option to record them. HD televisions Panasonic is an amazing way to enjoy these streaming services, as you can easily access the apps from your home screen.

I admit that I am one of those people that will sit scrolling through TV shows and be so overwhelmed by the options that I have to just end up closing the app. If you’re anything like me and have a difficult time trying to choose what to watch, then I've got you. I’ve teamed up with Panasonic to share what TV shows I have been loving this Winter!

New Girl
I started watching New Girl when it first aired back in 2011, I must’ve got about 6 episodes in and lost interest. My boyfriend and I started watching Desperate Housewives last year and got to the end of season 4, when NOW TV and Amazon Prime decided to remove it from their service… We still haven’t finished it. We decided a couple of weeks ago it was time to start a new TV show and we decided on New Girl on Amazon Prime. I am honestly pleasantly surprised at how much I’m enjoying it, it is laugh-out-loud funny. 16 year old me clearly didn’t have any taste. The characters are all hilarious in their own way and bring different types of humour to the show. If I wasn't watching it with my boyfriend, I definitely would have finished it by now. A plus side is the show ended in December, so you can binge watch the whole series without having to wait for a new episode to air!

Riverdale
Every week I ask myself “why am I still watching this?” I cannot stop watching it and I honestly have no idea why, it draws you back in. It’s something I tend to put on while I am working on my Etsy store. They did just recently announce that they will be taking on Heathers for their next musical episode, which I do not have high hopes for. I could write a whole other blog post about my thoughts and opinions on it.

Liv & Maddie
Yes, I am 23 years old and watching a Disney Channel show. While I do my make up in the morning I like to put something on that doesn’t require my full attention and I can zone out if needed. I pay monthly for DisneyLife and it is a life saver, I highly recommend it. The show really is nothing special but the episodes are only 20 minutes long. It certainly has nothing on the Disney Channel classics I watched growing up,  The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Hannah Montana, That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, etc. Although, I would like to applaud Dove Cameron for playing a set of twins and having to portray them with completely different personalities. She does it in a way that makes you believe there really are two of them.

Sex Education
With only 8 episodes and a gripping plot, this new Netflix original show is perfect to binge watch on cold, bleak Sunday. I know there has been a lot of conversation around when the shows meant to be set and that it doesn't portray British schools accurately. Aside from that, it really doesn't have any faults. I've only ever seen Asa Butterfield in Miss Peregrine's Home of Peculiar Children, which I really did not enjoy and I love Tim Burton films. At first it took me a while to figure out where I recognised him but I soon clocked it, his acting really has improved. Eric is definitely my favourite character and I don't want to say anything else about this show to save you from spoilers.

Ru Paul's Drag Race: All Stars Season 4
I absolutely love Drag Race and seeing returning queens on All Stars always makes for excellent entertainment. This season has me gagged, the twists and surprises have seriously made this season extremely enjoyable. I normally watched it tucked up in bed on a Saturday or Sunday morning before I start my day, I'll be sad after this week when it ends. Who are you rooting for to win? I have a feeling Trinity might take the crown. You can watch the whole season on NOWTV until March 27th, I believe.

If you're stuck on what shows to watch, then I hope this post gave you some guidance. If you have any recommendations for me, then please leave some in the comments! Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is definitely on the top of my list of shows to watch.
