My Current Cruelty Free Beauty Favourites | Blogmas Day 8

Friday, 8 December 2017

With the arrival of the cold weather my skin tends to go quite dry but I normally have oily skin. Trying to find products that agree with my skin can be difficult! My usual go to make up look is very pink orientated but with the holidays approaching I've started trying out more orange and nude based looks. These are the products that I am going to be using religiously throughout December.

The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation (£10)
The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops (£10)
ELF Poreless Face Primer (£7.50)
Jeffree Star Pumpkin Pie Liquid Lipstick (£16)
Kat Von D Ophelia Liquid Lipstick (£17)

I had been on the hunt for a matte foundation that didn't make skin look extremely dry for a while. I tried The Body Shop matte clay and it did keep my face matte but it just didn't sit as well as I wanted it to on my face. Recently I'd bought the Urban Decay all nighter foundation and it was a bit too orange for me, so I thought I'd try out The Body Shop's lightening drops with it. It worked perfectly! Although, The Body Shop foundation is only slightly too dark for me, I thought I'd try mixing in the lightening drops to see if it blended into my skin any easier. It worked a treat. This has now been my go to foundation routine for a couple of months, it keeps my skin looking less oily and keeps the dry skin at bay. I suffer with really bad pores and my foundation sinks into my face by the end of the day, the ELF primer has really helped me tackle this. It also helps a lot with my dry skin which is odd, as I find products that help tackle oily skin normally make my dry skin a lot worse.

As I normally do pink eye shadow looks, I tend to match it with a pink lip. However, I am slowly running out of my favourite Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Lovesick, so I treated myself to a new nude. Ophelia is the most perfect nude shade, as I am quite pale some nude lipsticks can look too dark on me. Ophelia goes amazingly with any eye shadow look and it doesn't make your lips feel extremely dry. Some of my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks have dried out now, so I try not to buy from his collection now but I am still so obsessed with his Pumpkin Pie shade. It is such a beautiful deep orange with specks of glitter in and it looks amazing with a gold, or orange eye look. I definitely don't wear this shade enough but I have tried to incorporate it a lot more into my make up looks.
