On our first day, after freshening up and dropping our luggage off at the hotel, we headed straight to the Christmas market. It was quite busy by the time we had arrived and trying to get close to the stalls to have a look was quite difficult. We picked up a hot apple, which turned out to be our go to drink of the holiday. We also tried the potato chips on a stick and they were incredible. It was a lot colder than we were expecting it to be, so after having a wander around Old Town and looking in some of the shops and going into a torture museum, we headed back to the hotel to relax before heading to the Hard Rock cafe for dinner! I can't for the life of me remember the name of the hotel we stayed in but what I can remember is that the shower was absolutely terrible. It was right around the corner from Wenceslas Square, which is where the Christmas market is.
On our second day we found the most amazing cafe to have breakfast in, we ate here the next morning too because we liked it so much. We both ordered porridge and it is still to this day the best breakfast I have ever had. We had a wander down to Charles Bridge had a look around there. Everywhere in Prague is picturesque and beautiful, it was honestly such a dream come true to be finally be there. We decided the walk up to Prague Castle to look at the view, we didn't end up going inside as the queue was huge and we didn't fancy waiting around in the cold for a long period of time. After taking some pictures, we decided to try and find the John Lennon wall. It took us absolutely ages to find and we were both frozen by the time we got to it.
On our last day we decided to just have a wander around and see where we ended up. We did end up going to the Lego Museum, which was a lot smaller than I was expecting it to be. By going to the museum we did come across an area that we hadn't looked around yet, so to keep warm we decided to have a look in the shops. We found a giant Hamley's store and spent quite a while in there. On our walk back to the area near our hotel we found a mirror maze, so of course we had to go an do it. I probably should have written this blog post a year ago, as trying to remember everything we did has proven to be very difficult.
Jake and I had the most incredible time and it is a weekend I'll never forget, we honestly felt like we would never be warm again after this trip. Our next holiday together is Japan next year and I will definitely make sure I write all of those blog posts as soon as we come back!
