Day Three | Disneyland Paris June Trip Report

Tuesday, 12 September 2017

After what felt like the shortest sleep of my life, it was time to kick start another magical day. We were out of the hotel by 10 and the first thing we wanted to do was meet Mickey and Minnie in their anniversary outfits, so we headed over to Disneyland Parc. Me and Alice stood in the queue for about 15 minutes and we must have only moved an inch. Even by half 10 the heat was starting to become a bit too much and we weren't sure how long the wait actually was. We could see Goofy was meeting opposite where we were and the queue was a lot shorter, so we made our way over there. Just as we got their Goofy left and they changed the sign to say Daisy would be meeting next, which I was so excited about as I had never met her before! We stood in the queue for quite a while but I think it was still shorter than the time we would have waited for Mickey and Minnie.

When it was finally our turn to meet Daisy, I asked if she could teach me how to pose and she definitely didn't hold back. I thought she was going teach me one but she brought out four of her best poses for me to try and copy. She is honestly a true Queen. After we'd finished meeting Daisy we headed straight over to Walt Disney Studios to see what the wait time for Crush's Coaster was like, we decided to do single rider and we got on the ride in about 15 minutes. I love that Crush's Coaster is exclusive to Disneyland Paris at the moment because it is one of my favourite attractions! I hadn't been on it for over 3 years because when I went at Halloween the previous year it was under construction, so it felt like I was experiencing it for the first time again.

After Crush's Coaster we had a wander around the Studio's Park. Seeing Mickey and Magician was a priority for us as we all fell in love with it the first time we saw it and it definitely didn't disappoint the second time around. The magic, the songs, the costumes and the props are all incredible and the way it is done is extremely magical. I can't wait to see what future shows Disneyland Paris have in store for us! After seeing the show, we headed over to Ratatouille and jumped straight in the single rider queue, we got on straight away. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that Ratatouille won't be exclusive to Paris soon but I am glad that people visiting EPCOT will be able to experience it as well. As we were walking through Toy Story Playland we decided to get in line for Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, I'd never ridden any of the Toy Story rides before so this was something I'd been wanting to do for a while. Honestly, it was better than I was expecting it to be. We then decided to go on RC Racer, another attraction I had never done and I really enjoyed it! It was a lot shorter than I thought it was going to be but if you're looking for a good thrill ride then I recommend it. After putting it off all day because we didn't want to stand in the queue, we decided to just wait in line for Tower of Terror. I knew I'd regret not going on it, as it is one of my favourite attractions. It's also my twin brother's favourite attraction, so riding it did make me miss him but I fall more in love with ToT the more I go on it.

After having a look around the shops, we decided to head back over to Disneyland Parc. We had a wander around the whole park and had one last look in all of the shops to make sure we'd bought everything we wanted to. Of course I had to take some outfit photos too! I didn't Disneybound on this day but I still made my outfit very Ariel orientated by wearing my mermaid ears that I'd made, my Ariel shorts and my Little Mermaid vans. I had a lot of people ask me where my ears were from and it made me so happy being able to tell them that I had made them.

Megan had been in the park on her own for a while, so I gave her a quick text to see if she wanted to join us for a cocktail in Café Fantasia. We met her in the lobby at the Disneyland Hotel and made our way up the stairs, we actually sat outside Café Fantasia next to where the piano player was playing Disney songs beautifully. I was so happy in this moment, drinking my over priced cocktail, , while listening to Disney songs being played on a piano. I can't remember the name of my cocktail but it was watermelon flavoured and fairly strong. After relaxing and drinking our cocktails, we had a look round the Disneyland Hotel boutique to see if there was anything we wanted to buy. I did end up replacing my Mickey Mouse ring that I bought in Florida 4 years ago, as mine was starting to look worn and torn. However, even though I bought the exact same ring, the one I bought in Paris has started to go brown, which is extremely disappointing. I've gone back to wearing the one I bought at Walt Disney World again.

As we headed back onto Main Street the sun was starting to set and everywhere looked so beautiful, Disneyland during this time of day really does look magical. Megan showed me where the cast member door is and of course we took some pictures in front of it! We decided to head over to Big Thunder Mountain for one last ride before Illuminations, as it only had a 25 minute wait. We laughed the whole way round and I'm glad this was our last attraction of the trip, as it gets better every time you go on it. As soon we came off BTM, we decided it was time to get a spot for Illuminations. We got a spot right near the front as everyone was sitting down, I decided to go and get some popcorn for all of us to share as I hadn't had any this trip and Disney popcorn is something I have to have whenever I visit. I was so excited to be able to watch the show sitting down, as my feet were killing me from the constant walking we'd done. However, 5 minutes before Illuminations was due to start, a proposal took place right in front of the castle. This meant everyone decided to stand up, which meant we were also forced to stand. As happy as I am for the couple, I would've loved to have been able to stay seated... Ending the trip by watching Illuminations really was magical, I teared up at The Little Mermaid part again. I hope they bring a new castle show to Disneyland Paris once the 25th celebrations are over, I really do think it deserves something better.

Being able to experience this trip with Megan truly was magical, experiencing the magic of Disney with someone I met through our shared love for Disney really is special. I can't wait for future trips together and I hope I get to meet more of my Disney friends soon!
