10 Things I Want to Experience at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Wednesday, 31 May 2017

I have currently been to Walt Disney World twice, once in 2010 and 2013, which was far too long ago. Both were amazing trips and I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to go but I miss it more and more every single day. A lot of changes have been made since both of my visits, one of the biggest ones being magic bands, I believe they were introduced in 2013 but after I had been. Before my recent trips my knowledge on the parks definitely was not as extensive as it is now, so I do feel there are things I missed out on due to not doing my research beforehand. There is still a lot that I am eager to experience at Walt Disney World's different parks, so I thought I'd start a new series on blog listing everything that I am hoping to experience at some point in the near future!

1 Attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
I follow a lot of people on Instagram who attend these parties and it makes me so incredibly jealous, they both look amazing. I really hope that I'm able to attend one of them in the future, as it is something that has been on my Disney bucket list for a while.

2 Ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
I think this ride opened about a month after my visit, as it looked near enough complete! I was gutted that it wouldn't be open in time for my trip but I have watched a couple of vlogs where people have ridden it.

3 Try a Dole Whip
I honestly cannot remember if I have tried a Dole Whip, I remember my uncle buying something pineapple related in Magic Kingdom but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. However, I have tried the Pineapple Whip at Disneyland Paris but I had a cold at the time, so I don't actually know what it tasted like...

4 Watch the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show
A part of me is definitely ashamed to admit that I didn't watch this show once during both of my visits and it is a big regret of mine. Therefore, it is definitely on my list of things I have to do when I finally visit the park again.

5 Watch Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire
I have seen a ton of clips of this show in vlogs and on people's Instagram stories, it looks incredible. A show that incorporates Tangled and Princess and the Frog into it, what more could you ask for?

6 Relax on the hub grass
The hub at Magic Kingdom has been updated and expanded since my last visit in 2013. So I never got to truly experience the magic of drinking a Starbucks, while relaxing with a view of the castle.

7 Have my picture taken holding the Tangled lantern near the Tangled toilets
I've recently seen people posting pictures of them posing with the lantern from Tangled and this is definitely a dream photopass opportunity for me. The lantern scene is one of the most beautiful scenes from any Disney film, so being able to recreate it in a way would be incredible.

8 Watch Happily Ever After in person
I have watched the live stream of the new castle show on YouTube but it definitely isn't the same as being able to experience it for yourself in person. I hope one day that I'm able to see it and sing along to it while at in the park.

9 Be chosen to perform as one of the characters in Enchanted Tales With Belle
I have done this attraction before but unfortunately I was not chosen to participate, my uncle was! I think at the time I kept my head down and stood near the back, as I hated standing up in front of a group of people but now I would absolutely love it.

10 Watch the Main Street Trolley Show
I had no idea that this was even a thing until I started following people on Instagram who work at Walt Disney World but it is something that I would definitely love to watch.

There are loads more things I would love to experience in Magic Kingdom but these are just 10 that are definitely on my to do list! What is something you would love to experience in Magic Kingdom?

  1. I went to Magic Kingdom in April and it was incredible. I missed out on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train too though, so if I ever return, I'd definitely want to go on that too!

    1. It always seems to have such a long wait time now, I'd definitely make sure I book fast passes for it in the future!

  2. Despite many visits to Magic Kingdom I don't think I have ever rode the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train either - I have had a Dole Whip though and loved it. I've even had it from it's original home the Dole Plantation in Hawaii!
