My Most Memorable Experiences In Japan

Friday, 17 February 2017

It may have been a year and a half since my Japan trip but I still think about it every single day. It is a trip I will honestly never forget and I cannot wait to go back. I experienced so many incredible things while I was there and it was such an unforgettable experience but I thought I'd talk about three of my favourite experiences that I had during my time there! Every moment there was unforgettable but this post would be far too long if I spoke about all of them! My twin brother just recently found out he got a job to teach English in Japan, so it is time I started saving so I can afford to go and visit him. Plus I need to take into consideration everything I am definitely going to want to buy while I am there.

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea
Being able to visit the Tokyo parks was a dream of mine for such a long time, I had seen so many pictures of the parks online prior to my trip and I instantly fell in love with everything. I was unbelievably excited to see all of their merchandise. I'll never forget seeing the castle for the first time and the feeling of just being in Tokyo Disneyland. Once Upon a Time is definitely my favourite castle show that I have seen, as it is Mrs. Potts telling Chip a story. DisneySea is my favourite Disney park that I have been lucky enough to visit, mainly because it has Mermaid Lagoon. The exterior and interior for Mermaid Lagoon is so incredibly beautiful, as Ariel is my favourite character the whole land was absolutely perfect. One of my favourite things about going to DisneySea was the outfit that I wore, I need to visit Disney again when it's not cold so I can bring it back out. If you want to read more about Disney in Japan, then I wrote a whole post on it.

Osaka Castle
Osaka Castle is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen and the history behind it is so interesting. This was our first proper outing when we were in Japan and after one good nights sleep, my jetlag had completely gone. I wasn't used to the heat yet though and it was incredibly humid outside, thankfully they do have air conditioning inside the castle. The castle is one of Japan's most famous landmarks, it played a major role in the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The view from the top of castle is so beautiful and never ending! If you're ever in Osaka then I highly recommend visiting the castle, not only for the view from the top but also for its incredible history.

 Ghibli Museum
Studio Ghibli films aren't something I was necessarily interested in until a few years ago. My brother is a huge fan and he'd been trying to get me into them for ages, I don't think it was until I watched Kiki's Delivery Service that I started to understand his love for their films. I instantly fell in love with the animation, especially the scenery in their films, it is honestly like nothing I have seen before. Being able to visit the museum and see some of the behind the scenes was amazing. Film is something I have always been interested in and I absolutely love being able to see a how a film is made, especially animated movies. They even have a theater where they show a Ghibli original short animated feature, which you will not be able to watch anywhere else. The Ghibli Museum is definitely a one of a kind museum!

  1. This makes me miss Japan so much, I was there in 2015 too! I'm crossing all my fingers that me and the boyfriend will be able to go back next year, and I'm attempting to learn Japanese too, eek!
