Character Meet & Greet | Disneyland Paris Halloween Trip 2016

Thursday, 12 January 2017

Even though it has been well over three months since my Disneyland Paris trip, I still wanted to post something from this trip as I had such an incredible time. I hadn't been for the Halloween season since I was 8 years old, so I was excited to see how the park looked and experience Disney during one of my favouite seasons. However, throughout this trip I had a really blocked nose, So I was unable to taste or smell anything. I was devastated, as my favourite thing about Disney is how everywhere smells, especially the popcorn. However, to compensate I did have some amazing meet and greets! If you're anything like me and you love reading all about others meet and greets, then hopefully you'll enjoy this post.

We had known we wanted to make the most of extra magic hours on our first day in the park and during this time we met Donald and Goofy, there was barely a queue for Donald and there was no one waiting for Goofy, due to where he was situated. This was my first time meeting Donald and he was adorable. He loved the glitter I had on my cheeks, there is no where more appropriate than Disney to smother yourself in glitter. He started pointing at the glitter, I asked him if he wanted some and of course he said yes. We were heading towards Discoveryland when we noticed Goofy stood on his own, we walked over to him and he kindly took pictures with us before he went backstage. He gave me a kiss, so I insisted on giving him one back...

I was desperate to meet Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween outfits, so we walked over to where they were meeting. We must have waited less than 10 minutes to meet them, during this trip the longest we had to queue for anything was probably 15 minutes! Minnie was incredibly excited about my Jack Skellington ears, she kept pointing at them and clapping. Making your own ears and having the characters get so excited about them is such an amazing feeling. They spent such a long time interacting with me, I told Minnie how jealous I was of her dress and I wanted it for my Halloween costume. Mickey then began pointing his outfit out to me and showing off his cape. I'll honestly never forget this meet, mainly because Minnie kept requesting more hugs of me and giving me kisses, I think I may have pulled Minnie Mouse...

We saw there was queue forming near Minnie's house, so we walked over to see who was there and it was Marie. Marie is one of my favourite Disney characters and meeting her is always a lot of fun. Being the weirdo that I am, I started stroking Marie's face because her fur felt really soft... My twin brother then proceeded to tell me that I was being creepy, Marie disagreed. She started wagging her finger at him and demanded for me to continue, I then somehow managed to poke her in the eye. So, I'll never forget that.

Meeting Jack Skellington is always such a surreal moment, he's the first Disney character I remember absolutely loving and he holds such a special place in my heart. He thought my ears were amazing and even pointed out Lock, Shock and Barrel on them. I told him that I had also met him during Christmas time the previous year, that I loved his Sandy Claw outfit and that Sally had done a marvelous job. I wish he was out meeting all year!

This was my first time meeting Woody and I had no idea what to expect, what I certainly was not expecting was him pretending to tickle me. I also proceeded to ask him if he had a snake in his boot, as I had no idea what to else to ask him. I had a lot of fun with Jessie, she tried to take some of the glitter off of my cheek and put it on hers, which did horrify the cast members a bit as they told her no. I told her that I thought she was incredibly sassy and she made us flip our hair together, the cast members then told Jessie I was more sassy than her. I mean, what can I say?

Jafar was slightly terrifying to meet, he made me tilt my head down so he could lean on it to do his signature. Little did he know how long it had taken me to get my fringe to look half decent that morning and he had decided to lean on it in order to do his autograph. He did point at my graduation badge and give me a thumbs up, as I wore that for the whole trip. During Halloween the villains roam around near the park entrance, you have to be lucky to meet them though as they are pretty selective. Gaston asked me what my name is and told me to walk with him while he signed my book. He spoke to me for quite a while, saying how he is more handsome than Beast and started flexing his muscles for me. I also met Captain Hook during this trip but I can't seem to find he picture.

I absolutely love meeting the characters when I visit Disney now, I used to be really shy but now it is my favourite thing to do at the parks. Which characters have you met at Disney and which have been your favourite? I'd love to know!
